We hired Jake and Kelcie to replace two bathroom light/exhaust fans in our house. They were amazing through the whole ridiculous ordeal and we will absolutely hire them again for future general contractor type work. The details below are to share how they handled the comedy of errors (not their errors, just the way things were going).
After removing one of the fans, they determined that an electrician was needed due to too-short wires that wouldn't reach the new fans. They sold me the light/fans and didn't even charge me for the time they were there, mostly because they had to essentially leave the house with a hole in the bathroom ceiling (that they covered in cardboard temporarily). They were super responsive to my texts and worked REALLY hard to connect me to an electrician in their network (who was very busy but still fit us in pretty quickly).
When the electricians came to do the install, they let us know that the light/fan we had purchased wouldn't work in the downstairs bathroom due to no attic access. I let Jake & Kelcie know and asked if it was possible to return the light/fan. I received an "ok" via text and wouldn't you know it, they showed up at our house very soon after that text with a refund check so they could take the light/fan off our hands.
I don't think I've ever encountered a company that was so good at customer service. Seriously.

HB is an excellent choice for those everyday tasks you keep putting off every day.
They were very easy and responsive to work with and performed quality work. In one example (a little extreme), they had to fit a door into a previous frame that was so “off” that it required adjusting the new one to almost the angles of a funhouse mirror. Somehow Jacob made it fit and look square.

We hired the Helpful Badger team when my husband and I realized we were out over our skiis. We wanted to replace a non-working medicine cabinet mirror with integrated LEDs with a regular medicine cabinet mirror. Seemed like an easy DIY swap...until it wasn't. The mirror wouldn't hang right and was in danger of crashing to the floor. We knew we needed help.
What we thought would be easy for the Helpful Badger team required intense problem-solving and to get the screws to fit correctly, they had to be customized both in length and in the screw head (I didn't even know you could do that!). In the end, it works perfectly for us and the price could not have been more reasonable. We're really happy that we called in professionals because this is one job we definitely could not have done ourselves. I'm already thinking about other projects for this team. They'll be my first call!

I am going in for hip replacement surgery soon and I needed someone to install some grab bars in my shower. While looking at it, the estimator noticed the fence post was on a failing retaining wall. Instead of just taking the job, they referred me to a landscaper that would be able to fix both issues. Couldn't be happier with the folks from Helpful Badger. They provided sublimely excellent service on site surrounded by equally great customer service overall. And they charged a good, absolutely reasonable fee for their work.
They even went out of their way to help. When I hired them for work in my house, I asked if they could drop by my Mom's house next door to check out how she could install an air conditioner. They didn't just stop by, they saw that a less intensive option was available, so they just did the work right there: Unstuck a stuck window and did the installation in about 20 to 30 minutes.
I may regret providing this review, though. My only negative experience was that they weren't immediately available when I called. :-) Their earliest available time was a week out. That's not a problem. In fact, it's about half the time I expected. But if they keep making customers as happier as I am, they're going to be so busy soon that -- next time -- I might have to wait two weeks. :-)

Jake and Kelscie are a pleasure to work with - I appreciate their being there for me, as a customer, for the past 2 years (many tasks and various). Always on time, always with tools, always with can do and will do attitudes. They have installed a small-area fence, hung curtain and towel rods, affixed my fencing to my concrete wall (stabilization), pressure washed my sidewalks, etc. Both also have helped my mom (a senior) with minor-intermediate plumbing, as well as me - installed new garbage disposal, toilet issues, etc. I would recommend Helpful Badger for sure!!

That had to be done shelving, a fireplace mantle, installed a new clothing rod in closet, & a microwave
Hutch. There crew were on time & cleaned up perfectly. They were knowledgeable, perfection was a must if you need repairs this crew would be the first for the job. It’s a pleasure to recommend this company & crew.

My wife and I found Helpful Badger after searching many places online. They had good reviews, and after using them today I can see why. They were very responsive, knowledgeable, and honest. They stayed into the evening to get the job done in one day rather than having to come back. They finished our project faster and for less money than originally estimated.
